What to Expect:

Functional, Play-Based, FUN

❋ Comprehensive Evaluations

We take a comprehensive, individualized approach to assessment, using both formal tests and informal observations. We evaluate how your child’s speech structures function, how they use words to express themselves, how well they understand language, and how they communicate and interact with others.

❋ Speech-Sound Disorders

Speech-Sound therapy focuses on improving speech intelligibility and addresses difficulties with articulation, sound patterns (phonology), and motor planning for speech (apraxia).

❋ Receptive/Expressive Language Disorders

Language therapy helps children understand and use words effectively. This includes skills such as communicating wants and needs, building vocabulary, forming longer sentences, and following directions.

❋ Social Communication

Pragmatic (social) language is how children use language to communicate and interact appropriately with others. This includes greetings, gestures, body language, and facial expressions, as well as conversational skills, inferencing, and understanding figurative language.

❋ Stuttering

Stuttering therapy is highly individualized and involves helping children understand speech and stuttering, learn strategies to stutter more easily, build confidence in communication, and advocate for themselves in situations where speaking may be challenging. Therapy focuses on empowering both the child and family to feel comfortable and confident with communication, regardless of stuttered speech.

❋ Voice

Voice therapy may include breathing and posture exercises, vocal strengthening techniques, resonant voice therapy, relaxation, and vocal hygiene education, to address hoarseness or strain, pitch and volume control, vocal confidence, and teach healthy habits to prevent future vocal problems.
